OMFG TO THE FUTURE!

He wasn't in time for school...
He wasn't in time for dinner...
Now he's not in time at all.

On June 14, FedEx inexplicably delivered a large package to my door.

The box had "mongoose" printed on it and though I was certain I hadn't bought a bike, the FedEx guy confirmed that it was to me.

Was I drunk-shopping on ebay?

Then I remembered a message I got on bmxmuseum.com the week before - it said I was going get something that "might make RAGBRAI little easier." I thought it was going to be a backpack or something.

"That was nice." I thought. "He probably sent me an old 90s mongoose; I'll make a good home for it." then I opened the box "OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S THE 2012 KOS KRUISER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Inside the box was a note:

Hey R.D!

Well, guess who I work for? You passed the "awesome dude who is a great brand ambassador" test. Hopefully, this will serve you well @ RAGBRAI and thereafter.

As you may have heard/seen/read online, this bike is one of twelve with these parts plus color combo, so enjoy!

I expected to wake up at any moment - this was surely a dream - but I'm happy to report after 46 days and counting, the dream hasn't ended yet.

It's hard to find the right words to thank you enough because this is the kind of thing I'd normally wake up from! If I woke up right now as I am typing this, I wouldn't be surprised at all - I'd think "Awww man, I should have known it was just a dream!" What a weird feeling it is to think that at any moment you might wake up from real life - this really is a dream come true!

I will definitely blog about this in the coming weeks and this July, R.D. will be riding the supremely rad 2012 kos kruiser on RAGBRAI!

When I first saw the 2012 kos kruiser, I thought it was perfect in every way. It's strong, classic and modern in all the right places - I wont change a thing on this bike because there's nothing to change!

Thank you so much Martin, and thanks to everyone at mongoose - I feel truly honored that you have merely visited my blog, not to mention getting this totally amazing bike that everyone is talking about right now. Thanks a million!
