Broken Clavicle

Bad News and More Bad News:

1. I have a broken clavicle.
2. Underneath my skin, I'm not secretly a robot.

Last week I rode down a street that had mossy water on it.

Instead of stopping in front of what appeared to be just a small wet spot in the road, I casually rode over it assuming that it was just water and nothing more - but there was a thick layer of slippery moss growing in it.

From this day forward, whenever I see a wet spot on the road I'm going to assume it's an oil slick and carefully ride around it or stop.

Eventually, everything happens and the only thing you can do is try your best to be prepared for it.

When I wrecked, I was only going about 8mph but the side of my head whip-lashed really hard onto the pavement. It's fair to say that my helmet saved my life but even if it didn't, it definitely saved me an ambulance ride, a hospital stay and probably over $100,000 in medical bills.

So whether you're into bikes, motorcycles or skating, you can find a really cool helmet that matches your ride - and when you love your helmet as much as your bike, you'll know you found the right one.

And be sure to tell all your friends because knowing is half the battle!
